In our third lesson we can continue looking at the second part of the videohistoria we started in the previous lesson. Notice how Mariano, Florencia, and Luciana use the preterite tense to talk about what they and others did. Then use ir, ser, and hacer in the preterite to ask about what others did.

Luciana: ¡Ay! Che, Mariano, a dónde fuiste?

Mariano: Yo fui a ver dónde podemos encontrar a Trini. Se dónde está.

Luciana: Córno lo sabes?

Mariano: Fue el señor de la ventanilla. Él dice que Trini fue a la vuelta al mundo.

Florencia: Mariano, ¡qué bárbaro! ¡Vamos! They start to walk. Florencia stops to speak to someone, then catches up.

Florencia: El señor dice que Trini y sus amigos fueron a comer.

Mariano: Trini fue a comer? ¡Ay, no! ¿Qué podemos hacer? Tenemos que ir a buscarla. They reach the food court but don't see Trini.

Luciana: Fuimos a la vuelta al mundo, fuimos al restaurante. ¿Dónde está Trini? Nunca la vamos a encontrar.

 Pronouns After Prepositions

Use pronouns after prepositions like a, con, de, and para.
Here's how: Pronouns that follow prepositions are the same as the subject pronouns in all forms except mí (yo) and ti (tú).

usted, él, ella         ustedes/ellos(as)
La montaña rusa está detrás de mi.        El teléfono celular está cerca de ti.
The roller coaster is behind me.               The cellular phone is near you.

When you use mí and ti after the preposition con, they combine with con to
form the words conmigo and contigo.

Vas al museo conmigo?                                 Si, voy contigo
Are you going to the museum with me?          Yes, I'm going with you.
