The yo forms and the usted/él/ella forms take accents.

Vendí la computadora.
I sold the computer.

Tomás escribió un correo electrónico.
Tomas wrote an e-mail,

The nosotros(as) form of regular -ir verbs is the same in the present and the preterite. Use context clues to determine the tense of the verb.

Salimos a las ocho anoche.
We left at eight o'clock last night.

Mariano y sus amigos salieron ayer. Indica cuándo volvieron, según la hora a la que salieron y cuántas horas pasaron fuera de casa. (Tell when these people came home, according to the time they left and how long they were out.)

Example: Mariano / 4:00 (dos horas)
               Mariano salió a las cuatro y volvió a las seis.
