Overview of AL: Geometry

AL: Geometry is the branch of mathematics mainly concerned with two and three-dimensional figures and their properties. We will use algebra, inductive and deductive reasoning, constructions, measurement, and coordinate geometry to explore these properties. We will also employ and sharpen the following skills:

  • Making sense of problems and persevering in solving them.
  • Reasoning abstractly and quantitatively.
  • Constructing viable arguments and critiquing the reasoning of others.
  • Modeling with mathematics.
  • Using appropriate tools strategically.
  • Attending to precision.
  • Looking for and making use of structure.
  • Expressing regularity in repeated reasoning.

To successfully pass and complete this course, learners must read, watch, and interact with all course materials and components.
